Shattercock: Dawn Through Broken Glass

In this work, I explore the fragile boundary between chaos and harmony through the fractured anatomy of a bird in flight. The angular, crystalline forms evoke both the shattering of natural grace and its simultaneous reconstruction, an eternal cycle of destruction and rebirth.Sharp geometric planes collide with organic curves, while a turbulent night sky presses against luminous fragments of color, suggesting both captivity and transcendence. The heavy impasto and layered textures mirror the emotional weight of transformation, inviting the viewer to feel the tension between confinement and the longing for freedom.

The Cat's Quiet Kingdom

36x24in

Oil on canvas

Artist Statement

This painting celebrates the vibrant chaos of stacked homes—bold reds, blues, yellows, and oranges rising toward a glowing sunset—alive with laundry lines and textured life. Yet at its heart sits the black cat, small and serene on the winding path, quietly reigning over it all. In her calm presence, the riot of color finds perfect balance: a reminder that true sovereignty needs no noise, only stillness.

Dwellings: A Thousand Windows Singing

Artist Statement

Through bold strokes and a vibrant collision of color, I reimagine the quintessential Philippine hillside barangay, those tightly woven communities that cling joyfully to our islands’ steep slopes from Cordillera to Batanes, from Cebu’s mountains to Davao’s coastal barrios.
These are not silent villages but living tapestries: patchwork roofs of red, yellow, turquoise, and violet echoing the playful chaos of recycled GI sheets and bright paint that defy both typhoon and time.
Clotheslines dance across the foreground like festive banderitas, carrying the everyday poetry of laundry drying under a lazy tropical sun, a quiet testament to resilience, resourcefulness, and the unapologetic Filipino love for color.
The red sun hangs low, neither rising nor setting, but simply present, an eternal witness to a people who build their dreams upward, layer upon layer, house upon house, hope upon hope.

This is MY Philippines: loud, layered, luminous, and proudly standing tall against the sky.

Adored By You

36in x 36in
Oil on canvas

Artist Statement

This dazzling piece is akin to a celebration and affection; the cat is held in a loving and cherishing embrace by a golden goddess. The dominance of bright yellows with minor usage of other colors such as black, red, white and blue compliment the primary color greatly, akin to fireworks in the night sky, with the gold popping out and exuding a truly divine radiance against the darkness of the background. 'Adored by You' forms a great feeling of warmth and blessings to any who cherish and adore it.

You can't fix stupid.
You cant heal toxic.
Loving people harder doesn't make them love you back.
Over-explaining yourself doesn't mean you'll be understood.

"My First Lady"

Artist Statement

I finally mustered up the courage to paint onto a canvas this image that I’ve been drawing since grade school. I didn’t want to at first because it looked so “childish” but after putting down the paint brush, I felt ecstatic! My very first painting of my “lady”. How I wish I kept it though….
